Republicans "Bamboozled" Blacks

I enjoy hearing the clueless Republican talk about how "The KKK was a Democratic organization, and "The Democrats made the Jim Crow Laws!" I suppose it is sad to see such a skewered perception of history, but to me it's funny. I'm going to tell this to Republicans once and for all, those racist Democrats were social conservatives who converted to Republican 3 decades ago, and those heroic "slave-freeing" Republicans are now Democrats!

How did this happen?

It all started when Lyndon B. Johnson signed the Civil Rights Act, effectively turning the conservatives who overwhelmingly voted Democrat into "Dixiecrats". Nixon saw this political hole as an opportunity for Republican gains, which is why he used "states' rights" as his campaign theme, a motto that to the north would mean moderate, but to the south, would be a secret code meaning anti-civil rights."

Thus converting the conservatives to Republicans, and since the conservatives were from the south, the south converted as well. That's why the union states that fought slavery are all blue states today, and the confederate southern states that fought FOR slavery are all red states.

Red=Slave States

Blue=Free States

Look familiar? Kinda like the 2004 presidential election....?

Furthermore, the "Democratic" KKK was a conservative organization that used "culture" and "tradition" as their excuse for bigotry much like modern conservatives use as their excuse for anti-gay bigotry. Plus they hated immigrants.

Oh, and I almost forgot, they used RELIGION to justify their bigotry as well! Religion was used as justification for immoral acts like slavery and segregation.

Let's let's do the math:

Racist=southern, culture-preaching bible-thumper
Homophobe=southern, culture-preaching biblethumper

Who hates gays? Social conservatives. Could there possibly be any other kind of people who fought the same way against blacks?

According to a UCLA study, liberal minds are much more accepting of people, which would make bigotry a conservative trait.

Eisenhower said he was a "social liberal" for being against segregation. But he was conservative enough to be against judicial activism, which is why when his Supreme Court appointment Earl Warren overturned segregation as unconstitutional, Eisenhower claimed "He was the biggest Damned-fool mistake of my life."

O'Reilly Lies about Hitchens

Surpise! Billo says something that isn't true...

He correctly stated that oustpoken athiest and bestselling author Christopher Hitchens wrote a scathing article in Newsweek attacking "Mother" Theresa. Although he lied in what he claimed was the reason for the attack, stating that it was because of her socially conservative views against abortion, stem cell research, etc..., which it partly was, but he missed the main part...

Mother Theresa was a FRAUD with a capital "F". It is a documented fact that she manipulated the media into falsely believing her to be some kind of saint, when in fact she cheated the sick by cursing them with rotten conditions of which she exempted herself from when going to her fancy California hospital whenever she got sick.

And then there's what may be the worst, the allegations that she forced people to starve to death because she thought it was what god wanted. I would highly recomment the Penn & Teller:Bullshit! episode that tears her to pieces.

Mother Theresa
  • Mother Theresa accumulated over $50,000,000, almost all of it was spent on the the building of religious institutions instead of helping the poor and dying she "supposedly" cared for
  • "Mother Theresa wanted to people to live in impoverished conditions so she could be enlightened" - direct quote from the show
  • "Touching those who are suffering brings you closer to Jesus" - Mother Theresa
  • Millions died and suffered under her watch in Calcutta

GOP hypocrisy over MoveOn.org ad

Watch Clinton's comments in an interview with CNN's Anderson Cooper.

Republicans have always been hypocrits, whether it's their commitment to "small government", or their appreciation for the "sancity of life".

But this time it's one of the worst. Telling everyone how horrible MoveOn.org is for their smear ad. Weren't the Republicans the ones who won the 2002 Georgia senate race by running television ads that showed incumbent Democrat Max Cleland standing next to Saddam and Osama Bin Laden? Accusing a Vietnam vet who lost half his body fighting for his country of being a traitor?

Not to mention the ridiculous Kerry smears in 2004. Between an actual soldier who saved lives and won a chest-full of medals and a draft-dodging chicken who used personal connections to avoid danger by flying planes around all day, it's the soldier who gets his name dragged in the mud.
